The oxford shirt is one of the most reliable things in menswear and also one of the easiest to get wrong. The fabric is right. The collar is right. But if the cut is boxy, it just sits there looking unintentional, halfway between smart and lazy without committing to either. Slim fit changes that entirely. A well cut slim oxford tucks cleanly, layers under a jacket without bunching at the chest, and worn open over a t-shirt looks considered rather than accidental. The problem is that slim fit is not a consistent term. Some shirts labelled slim are still surprisingly roomy. Others are cut so tight across the shoulders that movement becomes an issue. We have been specifically looking for shirts where the chest and shoulders are fitted without restriction and the body tapers properly rather than just tightening at the hem. Oxford cloth rewards a good cut more than most fabrics. These are the ones that prove it.
