Most hoodies age badly. The cotton goes bobbly, the drawstrings fray, the whole thing starts looking like an afterthought within a season. Nylon is a different story. The fabric resists pilling, holds its structure, and develops a subtle broken-in quality that actually improves things rather than slowly ruining them. It also moves between contexts that cotton struggles with. A well made nylon hoodie sits comfortably over a basic tee on a Saturday but works just as well layered under a heavier jacket when the temperature drops properly.

What we have been looking for specifically are cuts with clean hoods that do not bunch awkwardly at the neck, zip weights that feel considered rather than cheap, and fits that work tucked into a waistband as well as worn out. The casual pieces that earn a permanent spot rather than cycling in and out of rotation.

These are the ones that look better at six months than they did on day one.
