The 90s hoodie revival has produced a lot of noise and not much worth buying. Most of what gets called vintage inspired is just a slightly boxy cut on cheap fleece with a drawcord that goes limp after two washes. The real thing is more specific than that. It’s about the weight of the fabric, the set of the hood, the ribbing at the cuff and hem that holds its shape rather than bagging out. It’s about a front pocket that sits at the right height and a fit that reads relaxed without looking accidental. We’ve been through a lot of hoodies that almost got there. The ones in here actually did. They wear well over a plain tee, they work under an overshirt when the temperature drops, and they look considered rather than lazy. Which, when a hoodie is done properly, is exactly the point.
