Most joggers look fine folded on a shelf and disappointing on an actual person. The waistband sits wrong, the taper is either too aggressive or not there at all, and the fabric pills after four washes. We know because we've worn enough bad pairs to have an opinion worth listening to. What we were looking for here was joggers that hold their shape through regular wear, sit properly at the ankle without being cropped, and are made from a weight of fabric that works as hard in October as it does in April. Fit is everything in this category. A well cut pair in a considered fabric reads as intentional. A poorly cut pair reads as an afterthought, regardless of the logo on the waistband. We looked at construction, waistband quality, and how each pair actually looks on rather than on a hanger. The ones here cleared every one of those bars.
