Aviator Sunglasses Worth the Investment

Few frames have the staying power of a good aviator. They've been around long enough to have earned their place, which is more than can be said for most things in men's accessories. The problem is that the market is flooded with versions that look the part in a product photograph and then do something unfortunate to your face when you actually put them on. Lens size, bridge width, the weight of the frame on your nose. These things matter more than the label. We've been looking specifically at pairs that flatter a range of face shapes without needing a fashion week wardrobe to justify them. The best aviators work on a weekend in jeans as well as they do dressed up. What we were after was the teardrop lens shape done properly, quality glass rather than cheap polycarbonate, and frames that don't feel like they're falling apart after one summer. Fine Scarves Worth the Investment

Large Scarves Worth the Investment

Most men buy a scarf too small and spend the rest of winter making the best of a bad situation. A large scarf is not a style statement for its own sake. Vintage Sunglasses Worth the Investment

Most sunglasses made today are designed to be replaced in two years. Vintage frames were not made that way. The acetate is thicker, the hardware is better, and the shapes come from a period when eyewear designers were actually taking risks. A good pair of vintage sunglasses does something that a new pair almost never does: it looks like it belongs to a specific person rather than a specific season. We have been pulling together frames across the decades that hold up both in quality and in how they read on a face in 2024. Keyhole bridges from the fifties, flat browlines from the sixties, oversized aviators from the seventies. Each era had its own logic and we find that logic more interesting than what is currently sitting in a high street window. Some of these are deadstock. Some are pre-owned in exceptional condition.
