Most men have owned a thin cotton t-shirt that looked acceptable on day one and went shapeless by day thirty. We have been looking specifically at fit through the body, how the sleeve sits on the arm, and whether the fabric actually improves with washing rather than surrendering to it. T Shirts With a Distressed Edge That Works

Most distressed t-shirts are doing too much. Shredded hems, aggressive bleaching, factory worn holes that look exactly like what they are. The result is a piece that announces itself before you've walked through the door, and not in a good way. What actually works is restraint. A slightly raw neckline. A fabric that's been washed down to the right weight. Fading that reads as lived in rather than laboured over. That is a much harder thing to get right, and most brands don't bother trying. We've been looking specifically for t-shirts where the distressing serves the garment rather than defines it.
